Ashlee Simpson is Still Getting Over Melrose Place

We were pretty surprised to hear Ashlee Simpson was getting kicked off Melrose Place. After all, she's a pretty good actress and probably drew some audience to the show. Apparently, Ashlee didn't see it coming either. And she's still trying to get over the news.

Were you surprised that Ashlee Simpson was abruptly asked to leave Melrose Place? Since the news coincided with news of Heather Locklear coming back to the show, there was lots of talk of Heather forcing the show's executives to get rid of Ashlee. We may never know what really happened, but we do know that Ashlee is off the show.

We're not ashamed to say we're a little bit upset she's gone. And she doesn't seem to be dealing with it too well either. According to an inside source, "Ashlee didn't see it coming, and now she's crushed... She invested her heart and soul into the job. She feels like the rug has been pulled out from under her."

It's true! Melrose Place is probably one of the coolest opportunities Ashlee has had and now it was taken away from her so quickly. We've also been hearing news that Ashlee's marriage to Pete Wentz might be on the rocks as well. And according to the source, "She is struggling to hold her marriage together, dealing with motherhood and practically starving herself to look good... Ashlee's friends are concerned that she's headed for an emotional meltdown." We're a bit worried about her too since we're not quite sure what her plans are after this.

The source continues, "She was desperate to establish herself as a serious actress, but now she's worried that she's failing." We wonder if Ashlee Simpson will get more acting opportunities headed her way. We know people like to make fun of her, but we think she is a pretty good actress and hope a new role comes along for her.

Sister Jessica Simpson is clearly upset too. The other day, she tweeted out, "CW catching up on MP. who writes this crap? i have had bad scripts to work with, but this? thank God my sister is amazing and got you some press." We love sisters sticking up for each other!
