Johnny Depp Joins Angelina Jolie in 'Tourist'

Where it stops, nobody knows.
If there's one thing I've learned after all my years in show business, it's that Hollywood is just one big merry-go-round. And the upcoming film The Tourist, with its recent additions of Angelina Jolie and Johnny Depp, is a prime example.

Johnny "Captain Jack" Depp is the latest A-lister to be in talk to star in the film about a an American tourist who gets caught up with an interpol agent (Angelina Jolie) and her hunt for a wanted ex-lover.

Depp and Jolie are only the most recent stars to be considered for the roles. At first, the Tom Cruise and Charlize Theron were going to play the pair, but they had to drop out because of scheduling conflicts. Then Aussie Sam Worthington, star of the upcoming Avatar, was set to play the tourist, but he had to drop out as well. Even the original director, Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck, backed out after creative control issues.

So now, after multiple switcheroos, The Tourist's passport looks like it will finally get stamped. Let's just hope Depp and Jolie can pass customs.
